Have you ever wondered how to write a report of your singing lesson?
First of all, what is meant by a report?
A report is an outline that describes the singing lesson in the best possible way; it can be generically descriptive or detailed; let’s see how to do it using the diagram below.
THE TITLE AND THE SUBTITLE
It seems trivial or perhaps obvious, but defining the title and subtitle of a singing report in the best possible way makes it easier to remember the actions and tools used in the lesson.
INTRODUCTION
Write a short intro describing the lesson’s total content by defining the points on which the report will focus.
DESCRIPTION OF SINGING EXERCISES PERFORMED
Take some of the exercises you did in class, write them down on the staffand describe your feelings about carrying them out.
DESCRIPTION OF THE STUDIO SONG
In this crucial point, we will describe the strategy to make the assigned piece as close as possible to optimal performance, evaluating aesthetic, stylistic, interpretative and technical aspects.
FINAL CONSIDERATION
Last point: deliver your feelings related to the previous lesson and the work done at home.
Being clear, simple, and concrete are the three fundamental points so that the report can be useful both for those who read it, but above all for those (pupils) who could use it in the future as a means to recover “forgotten” tools.
