G
The years flow and the human voice accompanied by our sung sounds has fortunately contaminated this beautiful planet quickly. Today I would like to take you back in time with this short historical story. The first recording of the human voice has the dating of 9 April 1860. In this audio recording whose duration is about ten seconds, a girl hints by singing a nourishing of French origin entitled "Au clair de la lune".
How did this recording come to us?
Everything starts from the discovery of a certain Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville who in those years invented the Fonautograg , an instrument consisting of a megaphone enclosed in a membrane which, vibrating thanks to the sound, the human voice triggered a movement towards a pork bristle , which in turn traced the waves produced on smoked paper sheet.
Gentle right?
Even more brilliant is the American research team led by David Giovannoni, who managed to convert that route to digital audio paper. Surely how you will hear in the video below the quality of the audio is not the best, but it is sufficient to understand the beauty of a clear and young voice like that of the daughter of the event.
Unfortunately, the inventor Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville could not listen to his masterpiece of this beautiful story, as his instrument could only trace the vibrations on paper but not to reproduce them.
The tool to reproduce any type of sound recorded in audio, was invented seventeen years later by Thomas Alva Edison who built the first phonograph. Today I thank Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville for giving me the beauty of a human voice recorded many years ago.
Listening to these fragments I seem to be able to touch with the hand and to hear the shiny period of those years, when everything had lived and savored. I hope that with this article you can experience the beauty of the journey through time as me, a means that allows us daily to dream and revive our memories ... Listen thanks to these repertoire videos the experiment regarding both the phonoautograph and the phonographer .
