When is Circleacttivities research born?
For many years I have been dealing with singing in circle and since 2018 I have started an in -depth research of this artistic expression in the context of a specific pathology such as Alzheimer's. In recent years, thanks to the Alzheimer's Day Center of the Civic APSP of Trento , both motor and cognitive exercises have been carried out, where the bearing foundations of the research such as the circle, the voice and body by dialoguing with external tools, have given rise to Circleacttivities, An innovative practice in the field of care and well -being.

Abstract of the first research on Circleacttivities
10 videotaped meetings were made and monitored by two external observers (psychologist, music therapist) to allow the progressive cutting on itinere. 5 users with mild-modern dementia were assessed before and after the course, to which specific tests were administered. The smallness of the data collected with the tests and the uncontrollability of the interfering variables do not allow for a thorough evaluation but, from the observation, a different effect on mood and social/emotional/behavioral functions emerges, probably related to the different ability to remember The event even at a distance. The activity was appreciated by all participants and favored the establishment of a relational symmetry between them. If from a neuropsychological point of view it is not possible to draw conclusive results, the observation has instead highlighted a positive tendency on cognitive and social/emotional/behavioral function, stimulating us to further investigations of the possible applications of the circleactivities with the patients of dementia.
Today at what point are we? In which direction CIRCLEactivities is it proceeding?
After four years of work and data collection, thanks to Giorgia Caldini, Head of the Alzheimer and Claudia Bernardi Educator Day Center, we are proceeding towards a new era.
Finally Circleacttivities is part of a great European project on dementia called sound, where the leader of this project inca ( center studies and economic-social research for aging ) has married this innovative methodology.
A lot is the effort and daily study that I dedicate to this mission, now I pass the nights to look at videos, to strive to understand the potential and critical issues of this methodology.
