The Canto Archive promotes initiatives of various kinds dedicated to lyrical singing, also with the aim of disseminating and enhancing its heritage.
The archive was established in 2009 thanks to the initiative edited by prof. Marco Beghelli, to enrich the heritage of the Library of the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna in the field of lyrical singing. The archive collects usually neglected and difficult to find publications in libraries. In addition to the great book heritage, the archive also focuses on the collection of paper and audio materials that tell the story and anecdotes of past artists, such as photographs, contracts, reviews and posters.
The material present within the Canto Archive is documented and digitized also allowing easy consultation thanks to the meticulous cataloging.
In the archive project there is also space to donate, exchange and therefore contribute to the growth of this fantastic project.
